The Process Engineer-in-Training will provide technical support to Fort Saskatchewan Nitrogen Operations. The incumbent will primarily work directly with operations and maintenance to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable unit performance and make decisions and suggestions to address problem areas and improve overall plant performance.

What you will do:

  • Provide process and personnel safety support
  • Monitor unit key performance indicators to identify problems and opportunities in the unit with the goal of continuously improving production, efficiency, cost and environmental performance.
  • Provide support for long range business needs, capital investment plans and projects including identifying short- and long-term equipment improvement and replacement needs
  • Ensure engineering standards are maintained in own work area as well as in areas of responsibility.
What you will bring:
  • Bachelor of Science or equivalent
  • Registered, or immediately eligible to be, with APEGA as a Member in Training.
  • Chemical or Process Engineering Degree
  • Knowledge in pressure vessel, piping codes, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, and safety valves.
  • Experience working with MS Office, SAP
