Environmental Engineer
, where you'll play a key role in ensuring our products meet the highest environmental standards and regulatory requirements. This is a product assurance role that blends technical expertise with strategic leadership, offering the opportunity to shape the environmental footprint of the River Class Destroyer program.
As an Environmental Engineer, you'll be a driving force behind our environmental compliance and sustainability efforts. Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the development and review of the
Environmental Protection Systems Report
.
Preparing environmental content for
Product Safety & Environmental deliverables
.
Identifying, managing, and mitigating
environmental risks and impacts
.
Leading
environmental certification
processes and ensuring compliance with applicable legislation.
Monitoring evolving
environmental laws and regulations
to ensure proactive compliance.
Authoring and maintaining the
Legislation, Regulations, Standards and Policies Register
.
Reviewing
Vendor Furnished Information (VFI)
for environmental relevance and accuracy.
Designing and delivering
environmental training programs
to internal stakeholders.
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline.
5+ years of experience in environmental engineering, preferably in a defense, aerospace, or complex systems environment.
Strong understanding of environmental legislation, standards, and certification processes.
Experience with environmental impact assessments and risk mitigation strategies.
Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and with external stakeholders.
Professional Engineer (P.Eng) designation or eligibility is an asset.
Due to the nature of work Irving Shipbuilding does, all successful applicants must meet requirements for the Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP), Canadian Government Security clearance, and U.S. International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR).
Please note this position requires a full-time, in-office presence.
