Our Chalk River Location is looking for a Engineering Change Control (ECC) Technical Support staff are responsible for the verification of and adherence to, all procedures related to Engineering, execution (construction, decommissioning, and component replacement), commissioning, turnover, and configuration management. The Engineering Change Control (ECC) Technical Support Trainee is an entry level position supporting Engineering Change Control in regards to modifications of physical structures and operational processes across CNL (CRL, DP, PH, PG, G1, NPD, WL). The ECC Technical Support Trainee is responsible and accountable to monitor, provide guidance, coaching, reporting and full processing of all changes under the direct oversight of the ECC Technical Support staff and Coordinator. The ECC Technical Support Trainee will be eligible to progress to grade 404.D after 5 years of related experience and has demonstrated that they are able to perform the work of the ECC Technical Support 404.D grade.

What will you be doing!

  • Monitoring, auditing, providing guidance, coaching and full processing of all changes across CNL (CRL, DP, PH, PG, G1, NPD, WL).
  • Liaise, supporting and providing advice, specific to the ECC requirements at the requisite stage, to CNL users throughout project lifecycle.
  • Advising on applicable workflows to ensure that established ECC processes, practices, policies and procedures are adhered to. Acts under guidance of senior staff and Coordinator to analyze and resolve issues with stakeholders.
  • Activating and verifying ECC and project related requirements. Understands all specific project stage requirements and actively seeks and captures evidence to demonstrate requirements have been met.
  • Understanding and supporting the upholding of all aspects, requirements, processes and procedures related to engineering, construction, commissioning and decommissioning processes when executed both internally and externally. This includes the ability to understand and accurately interpret work order numbers, work packages, construction testing documentation, zone organization and roles, Scopes of Work, Responsibility Matrix (RMX), Request for Information (RFI), Field Changes (FCR), Construction/Commissioning evidence, Certificates of Completion, Commissioning documentation, Turnover and Decommissioning documentation.
  • Initiating and executing the immediate Release of all drawing and Engineering documentation upon audit of compliance with Change Control, Engineering, Compliance Program requirements and Facility approval.
  • Regular monitoring of construction and field execution; post construction activities and Avantis status. Provides immediate field/drawing deviation support, coaching and resolution strategies to field staff.
What we are looking for:
  • General knowledge of the five levels of change control (ECC, RREC, IEER, FCR, Exclusions) is desired and considered an asset.
  • A general understanding of the procedures related to engineering
  • Knowledge of Vault, ECC Application, Avantis, ATOM is considered an asset.
  • Demonstrates initiative, motivated, and possesses good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and direction.
  • Must be self-motivated to achieve desired objectives through deliberate planning and execution of work tasks.
  • Awareness of personal limitations where reaching out to senior department staff is necessary to ensure accurate information.
  • Demonstrates questioning attitude and has the ability to assimilate complex data and, with guidance and oversight, recommend solutions.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • High level of accountability, strong self-checking, problem solving and decision making.
  • Flexible in working outside of core business hours at short notice with applicable reference to the Collective Agreement
  • Knowledge in the processes and procedures identified in the Engineering Change Control Training Qualification Card 206-510200 TQC-010 is considered an asset.
  • At minimum a post-secondary education in a relevant discipline is required and
  • 3-5 years of experience in administrative capacity is required.
  • Experience in an operational, engineering, work management or project environment is considered an asset.
  • Security clearance eligibility required: Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 7 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat \xe2\x80\x9cStandard on Security Screening\xe2\x80\x9d and the \xe2\x80\x9cPolicy on Government Security\xe2\x80\x9d.
Location:
CNL works with employees across Canada to enable a remote workforce where possible. Our Work from Home employees are provided with the equipment required to be successful: laptop, monitor, external etc. Of course, we always love a visit to site when possible!
