Kobold Completions - Calgary, AB Kobold Completions is a global provider of advanced well completion technologies and services for the Oil and Gas industry. We are currently looking for an Engineer to join our team based in Calgary, Alberta. As a member of the Engineering team you will be responsible for providing mechanical engineering expertise towards the group\xe2\x80\x99s objectives. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and energetic individual looking to advance their career with a fast-growing company. Core Responsibilities

  • Provide sustaining engineering support to Kobold\xe2\x80\x99s Operation.
  • Create conceptual and detailed design of leading-edge fracking and related equipment.
  • Provide quality 3D modeling and 2D drawings structured with manufacturing BOMs;
  • Conceptual and detailed design improvements of existing and new products;.
  • Plan and participate in shop and field-testing for engineering projects.
  • Research, evaluation, and implementation of new technologies to enhance the company\xe2\x80\x99s product lines.
  • Evaluation of third-party detailed design, manufacturing, assembly and testing of various equipment.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Strong experience with project management, able to follow the process from start to finish.
  • Skilled self starter and able to work through problems to a final solution.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with a high degree for attention to detail.
  • Knowledgeable and skilled in the application of mechanical engineering principles.
  • Skilled in the use of SolidWorks, FEA, and Microsoft Office software.
  • Solid understanding of industry materials and manufacturing methods.
  • Knowledge of associated manufacturers and equipment suppliers will be considered a significant asset.
Education and Experience
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering from a Canadian-accredited institution or equivalent.
  • Registered or eligible at apply for as a Professional Engineer in Alberta.
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering and design experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 5+ years of experience specific to drilling and completions industry equipment.
  • Recognized patents in downhole tool design would be an asset.
