Reporting to the Mill Operations Superintendent, the Chief Mill Maintenance Engineer provides engineering leadership and support to Surface Operations. This position is accountable for leading the team that provides a safe work environment for the surface work force.

What you will do:

  • Professionally carry out duties following Nutrien\'s safety principles and priorities
  • Lead the Mill Engineering Department in supporting the Surface Operations and Maintenance groups through technical support and execution of the Surface Capital portfolio.
  • As the primary owner of the Cory Surface Capital portfolio you will:
  • provide oversight for capital budgets, scopes and schedules to align with site priorities
  • ensure adequate project management resourcing and technical oversight for active projects
  • ensure projects are executed safely and efficiently, and ensure projects meet stakeholder expectations and performance metrics while following all applicable standards, codes, and procedures.
  • manage the short, medium, and long term capital strategies for Surface Operations
  • be responsible for reporting and alignment with the corporate capital portfolio strategy.
  • As manager for the Mill Engineering Department you will:
  • lead and manage a department of engineers, technologists, contractors, and consultants to ensure full technical support for Operations and Maintenance activities on site
  • manage employee productivity, safety compliance, assignments, and performance quality
  • be responsible for ensuring all mechanical, electrical, and structural activities are sufficiently designed, specified, built, and integrated per applicable standards and codes.
  • manage the site\'s engineering standards, drawings, and procedures
  • actively promote and engage in continuous improvement by recommending alterations or modifications to existing systems and providing technical advice for improving maintenance and operating reliability and efficiency
  • support coordination and supervision of service provider activities as required
What you will bring:
  • Relevant Engineering degree from an accredited university
  • Eligibity for registration as a Professional Engineer or Geoscientist in Saskatchewan
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible engineering experience in industrial environment
  • Proven leadership, team-building, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Strong technical experience in potash processing or similar industry
  • PMP designation as an asset.
  • Demonstrated strengths in organizational, planning, and resourcing skills
  • Ability to handle a large and varied workload, prioritizing work tasks with minimal supervision
  • Strong commitment to safety with knowledge of OH&S, Mine, Environmental and other jurisdictional regulations
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft applications
