Employment Readiness Program Coordinator

Job Description

The Employment Readiness Coordinator will be responsible for the creation, development, and delivery of AIWCC's Employment Readiness Program. This role will design and implement training, workshops, and resources to support immigrant and newcomer women in gaining the skills, confidence, and knowledge needed to enter or re-enter the Canadian workforce. This role involves delivering employment programs, facilitating workshops, providing one-on-one coaching, and building partnerships with employers to create pathways to sustainable employment. The coordinator will also build partnerships with employers, training institutions, and community agencies to enhance employment opportunities for participants.

Key Responsibilities



Program Development & Delivery



Design, implement, and evaluate the Employment Readiness Program. Develop culturally appropriate curriculum and training modules (e.g., job search, resume writing, interview preparation, workplace culture, financial literacy, digital skills). Deliver workshops, group sessions, and one-on-one coaching for participants. Support participants with individualized employment action plans. Assess clients' employment readiness, skills, and career goals. Collaborate with internal teams and community partners to support holistic client services. Collaborate with internal teams and community partners to support holistic client services Build and maintain relationships with employers to create job placement opportunities. Track client progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with program requirements

Partnerships & Outreach



Build relationships with employers, training providers, and community partners to create job placement and mentorship opportunities. Represent AIWCC at community events, employment fairs, and networking opportunities. Collaborate with other AIWCC programs to integrate employment readiness into wraparound supports.

Program Administration



Recruit, register, and track participants progress. Collect data, prepare reports, and evaluate program outcomes. Coordinate volunteers, mentors, and guest speakers to enhance program delivery. Ensure compliance with funder requirements and AIWCC policies.

Qualifications:



Someone who's a self-motivated, adaptable team player with a passion for helping others succeed. Brings strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills to the table, and confident leading group sessions and trainings. Take pride in delivering excellent customer service and are comfortable using videoconferencing tools to connect with participants in both virtual and hybrid environments. Tech-savvy, creative, and ready to make an impact through digital engagement. Post-secondary education in Career Development, Human Resources, Social Work, Human Services, Adult Education, or related field. Minimum 2 years' experience in employment services, career counseling, or workforce development. Experience working with immigrant and newcomer populations, particularly women. Strong knowledge of Canadian workplace culture, employment standards, and job search strategies. Excellent facilitation, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively and independently. Proficiency in MS Office, online career resources and virtual training platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.). Perform other duties as assigned to support program goals and participant success. Experience working with diverse populations, including newcomers, immigrants, or youth, is an asset. Multilingual skills are an asset.

Working Conditions:



Working from office environment. Some evening or weekend work may be required to meet program needs. Possession of, or the ability to obtain, a Class 5 driver's license may be required. Completion of a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check.
Contact length: 1 year with potential extension
Expected hours of work: 37.5 per week plus group benefits package after the 3 months probation period
