Our Employee Experience Champion will be responsible for ensuring positive engagement and facilitate orientation and onboard new employees through our programs designed to enhance leadership skills, build effective communication and strengthen employee retention - primary focus on union bargaining/unit employees.
WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO:

  • Responsible for developing and implementing all on-boarding initiatives.
  • Develop, implement and own a process that builds a strong rapport with employees through regular check-ins with new hires, on-the-line visits, and aiding in problem solving during the first 100 days.
  • Responsible for creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.
  • Will be the liaison between hiring managers, new employees and Human Resources team members, as appropriate. Focus on training programs, onboarding activities.
  • Develop and lead process that ensures successful integration of new employees into the MLF culture.
  • Provides training, and on-going coaching/feedback as necessary, to hiring management on effective employee integration.
  • Reviews and assesses programs regularly for process improvement opportunities.
  • Conducts exit surveys for all leavers to identify areas of opportunity.
  • Reports on all retention and turnover data.
  • Policies, Processes & Procedures: adhere/comply with company policies and procedures; assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of improved department specific processes, policies and procedures.

WHAT WILL YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Minimum 3 years of recruitment, or related, experience such as a Coordinator or Facilitator;
  • Working knowledge of HR related legislation, including but not limited to the Ontario Employment Standards Act (ESA); Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC), Ontario Labour Relations Act (OLRA) etc.;
  • Demonstrated competency in multiple aspects of HR (i.e. performance management, motivating others, coaching, etc.);
  • Strong communication skills with a demonstrated ability to tailor message to audience;
  • Demonstrates strong business acumen and apply appropriately when making recommendations resulting in trusting and effective business relationships;
  • Proven ability to handle confidential and contentious issues;
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced environment where attention to detail and effective multi-tasking is essential;
  • Team-player with the ability to interact professionally with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Analytical, with problem-identification and problem-solving capabilities;
  • Proficient at MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
  • Post-Secondary Diploma in a related field required.
  • Working toward or achievement of CHRP designation an asset.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Office based (50%); Plant based (50%) - working in a live processing facility with some off hours required.
