About the Role

Our Emergency Roadside Service (ERS) Drivers are roadside heroes and trusted brand ambassadors for CAA Niagara. Combining strong customer service skills with mechanical and technical aptitude, ERS Drivers provide timely, professional, and compassionate roadside assistance to our members when they need it most.



In this role, you will operate a CAA Niagara fleet vehicle to deliver a range of emergency roadside services, including battery service, lockouts, tire changes, and towing using wreckers and flatbeds. With safety, service excellence, and member care at the core of everything you do, you will play a vital role in getting our members back on the road safely and efficiently.



The hourly wage for this role is $22.55.



Key Responsibilities

Deliver outstanding member service and act as a professional ambassador for CAA Niagara. Operate a CAA Niagara fleet-owned service vehicle in response to dispatch calls Assess vehicles and provide basic roadside services, including: Lockout assistance Battery testing and replacement Tire repair and replacement Vehicle hookup to wreckers (including use of dolly wheels) Loading vehicles onto flatbed trucks Safely operate towing equipment, chains, straps, and ratchets. Adhere to all applicable safety standards, internal policies, procedures, and traffic laws. Complete daily vehicle inspections and circle checks to maintain a safe and clean fleet vehicle. Use company-provided technology (tablet) to receive dispatches, update call status, and communicate with dispatch and management. Meet productivity and service goals set by management. Cross-train and operate light service vehicles, tow trucks, or flatbeds as required Perform other duties as assigned based on operational needs.

Qualifications & Skills



Must-Haves (BFOR):



A valid Class G driver's license Physical readiness to lift up to 70 lbs and perform tasks like bending, twisting, kneeling, pushing, and pulling throughout the day (all truck types require 'heavy' physical effort) Successful completion of a driver training program approved by the Ministry of Transportation (MOT) and ability to maintain towing licenses, which include annual background checks and driver abstract reviews A clean driving record to meet our company insurance requirements

Other Qualifications & Skills:



Strong customer service skills with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure Mechanical and technical aptitude with a basic understanding of vehicle systems Comfortable using tablets and basic computer technology Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with dispatch and team members

Education & Experience

Secondary School Diploma preferred Minimum 2 years of customer service experience Previous towing or roadside assistance experience considered an asset

Working Conditions

24/7 operation, including evenings, weekends, and holidays Working outdoors in all weather conditions, including inclement weather Physically demanding role requiring regular use of upper and lower body throughout the shift
