Position Overview

The Emergency Physician will provide patients across our province the option to connect virtually with a physician alongside a team of virtual physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and clinical professionals.

Virtual Emergency Room Physicians will attend to urgent medical needs, providing virtual emergency care services to Category B Emergency Departments. Patients will be offered an appointment during hours of care for Virtual Emergency services which will be 24x7x365. We will work with you on a schedule that works for you.

Responsibilities

• Provide appropriate virtual emergency care services to Category B Emergency Departments (Emergency Physicians)
• Exercise clinical judgement in combination with utilization of protocols to arrive at the appropriate diagnosis to provide a timely and accurate level of care to patients
• Submit referrals for appropriate diagnostic testing or specialized medical needs as required
• Promptly complete confidential medical records as per company documentation standards
• Provide clear and concise information and direction during patient encounters

Qualifications

• Graduation from a recognized School of Medicine
• An active Canadian MD license, in good standing with a provincial medical regulatory body
• Meet emergency care qualifications for Canada
• History of exceptional clinical performance
• Proficiency in English; bilingual skills would be considered an asset
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records and technology, including telephone systems, software programs, and computer programs
