Embedded Software Developer / Developpeur Logiciel Embarque



This role has been designed as 'Hybrid' with an expectation that you will work on average 2 days per week from an HPE office.

As part of the HPE Networking team in Montreal, you will,

Work on new projects. This work consists in designing, implementing, troubleshooting and debugging software for feature enhancement and new products. The software implementation might involve touching proprietary modules, third-party modules, databases, utilities, user interfaces, etc. Focus on the mid to higher level portion of the Linux based embedded software. Work on resolving software issues reported by customers.

What You Need To Bring

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering (software, electrical or computer engineering) required. Minimum of 6 years of embedded software development experience in C. Experience in network protocols (WLAN, VLAN, Ethernet switching, TCP/IP, 802.11) is an asset. Strong problem solving and software development/troubleshooting skills. Experience with Linux kernel and operating system. Understanding of design for software systems running on multiple platform types. Understanding of basic testing, coding, and debugging procedures. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Le travail pourrait etre effectues sur des modules tels que des bases de donnees, des interfaces usager, des utilitaires et des modules proprietaires et tiers. Concentrer sur la portion moyenne a haut niveau de notre logiciel embarque, base sur le systeme d'exploitation Linux. Travailler a la resolution de problemes logiciels rencontres par les clients.

Si vous avez...

Baccalaureat en informatique ou en genie (genie electrique, logiciel ou informatique) requis. Minimum de 6 ans d'experience programmation embarquee avec langage C. Experience en protocoles de reseau (reseau sans-fil, reseau local virtuel, commutation Ethernet, TCP/IP, 802.11) est un atout. Excellentes competences en resolution de probleme et en developpement et depannage de logiciels. Experience avec le systeme d'exploitation et le noyau Linux. Comprehension de design pour des systemes logiciels executant sur differentes plateformes. Maitrise des concepts de base de l'implementation, des tests et du deverminage de logiciel. Solides aptitudes a communiquer a l'ecrit et verbalement. Bilingue est un plus.
