THE POSITION




The position of Vice-Principal of a secondary school entails assisting the School Principal in accordance with the mandate defined by the latter in the management of the instructional, educational and administrative matters of the school.

THE RESPONSIBILITIES



Assist the School Principal in the management of the instructional, educational, and administrative matters of the school, namely: Develop, implement, adapt, and monitor, in cooperation with the school team, Special Education programs and procedures that are compatible with the School Board's policy, related provincial regulations as well as School Directives and/or practices. Coordinate and participate in the IEP process, including communication with parents and school team members involved in the process, as required. Coordinate and optimize the implementation of the Response to Intervention model and Professional Learning Communities (PLC) Coordinate services provided to First Nations and Indigenous students Assist, as needed, teachers, professionals and support staff who provide services to students with special needs. Report and inform the School Principal on the progress of special need students and any related issues as deemed necessary. Provide technological leadership and assistance to optimize the use of Information Technology in the school, for both staff and students. Facilitate staff development pertaining to information technology, create learning opportunities, provide in-service training/coaching and troubleshoot as needed. Participate in the classroom/teacher timetable scheduling Assist with the coordination and organization of the school's special events or activities. Attend various meetings Assist in student supervision at noon hour and, as deemed necessary. Make observations and provide feedback toward the evaluation and professional growth of staff members, as mandated by the School Principal. Oversee the application of the school's discipline policy, including the anti-violence program, the possible suspension of students, etc. May be required to work with individual students who have behaved inappropriately. Assist in the development of curriculum and with the integration of new teachers. Support the Principal in his or her absence and help to set and maintain a positive school climate. Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.

L'emploi de directrice adjointe ou de directeur adjoint d'ecole primaire ou d'ecole secondaire consiste a assister le directeur d'ecole, selon le mandat defini par ce dernier, dans la gestion pedagogique, educative et administrative de l'ecole.

?LES RESPONSABILITES



Assister le directeur d'ecole dans la gestion des questions pedagogiques, educatives et administratives de l'ecole, a savoir: Elaborer, mettre en oeuvre, adapter et surveiller, en collaboration avec l'equipe-ecole, les programmes et les procedures qui se rattachent a l'education specialisee et ce en accord avec la politique de la commission scolaire, les reglements provinciaux connexes ainsi que les directives et / ou pratiques scolaires. Coordonner et participer au processus du plan d'intervention, y compris la communication avec les parents et les membres de l'equipe ecole qui y sont impliques, si necessaire. Coordonner et planifier les services rendus aux eleves des Premieres Nations et Autochtones. Coordonner et optimiser l'implantation du modele Reponse aux Interventions (RAI) et des communautes d'apprentissage professionnelles (CAP) Aider, au besoin, le personnel enseignant, professionnel et de soutien qui fournissent des services aux eleves ayant des besoins particuliers. Signaler et informer la direction d'ecole de la progression des eleves ayant des besoins particuliers et de toute question connexe jugee necessaire. Fournir un leadership au niveau des technologies de l'information et le soutien requis afin d'en optimiser l'utilisation, tant pour le personnel que pour les etudiants de l'ecole. Voir au perfectionnement du personnel en matiere de technologie de l'information, creer des occasions d'apprentissage, offrir de la formation ou de l'encadrement et resoudre les problemes au besoin. Aider a la coordination et l'organisation des evenements speciaux ou des activites de l'ecole. Participer a l'organisation scolaire - horaire maitre dans GPI au niveau secondaire. Participer a diverses reunions Aider a la supervision des eleves a l'heure du midi si necessaire. Faire des observations et fournir des commentaires sur l'evaluation et le developpement professionnel des membres du personnel, tel que demande par la direction d'ecole. Superviser l'application de la politique disciplinaire de l'ecole, y compris le programme de lutte contre la violence, la suspension eventuelle des eleves, etc. A l'occasion peut avoir a travailler avec des eleves qui se sont comportes de facon inappropriee. Aider au developpement du curriculum et a l'insertion de nouveaux enseignants. En l'absence du directeur, voir au bon fonctionnement de l'etablissement, ainsi qu'aider a etablir et maintenir un climat scolaire sain. Effectuer toutes autres taches demandees par le directeur.
