As an Electronics Instrument Control Technician with VCH you will:
Repair, maintain, modify and commission electronic systems and electronic equipment including but not limited to computerized fire alarm and security systems, nurse calls, code blue calls, patient beds, operating room tables, and Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) using tools such as, but not limited to, screwdrivers and soldering irons, and testing equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes and function generators.
Perform on equipment/devices in accordance with applicable by-laws, codes and standards.
Make recommendations on the purchase/modifications of electronic equipment and estimates costs of labour and material.
Produce written reports, as built drawings, and recommendations as necessary.
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
Graduate of a recognized diploma program in Electronic Technology plus three (3) years' recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Certified as a Registered Fire Protection Technician by the Applied Science Technologist and Technicians of B.C. (ASTTBC).
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Ability to deal with others effectively.
Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings and specifications.
Ability to organize work.
Ability to operate related equipment.
Closing Statement:
The hours of work including days off and work area may be subject to change consistent with operational requirements and the provision of the Collective Agreement and applicable statutes. Successful applicants may be required to complete a Criminal Records Review Check.

Collecting these records will allow for offering of any missing vaccines, and for appropriate actions to be taken in the event of any future exposure to a communicable disease or during outbreaks.
