About the role:
We are looking to grow our Engineering team and have an immediate need for an Electronic Engineer or Technologist. As an Electronic Engineer / Technologist at Excell Battery, you will be involved with a broad range of new product designs. Your work will encompass a range of battery technology, with a primary focus on battery management systems and charging circuitry. As a member of the Engineering Team, you will work with the engineering team to design battery management systems and charging circuitry to meet the needs of our customers' projects.
What you'll do:
Battery Management System and Charger design - Component selection, schematic creation, and PCB layout using Autodesk Eagle
Electronic design validation
Assembling and testing prototypes of your designs
Contributing to cross-functional teams for Risk Analysis, Design Review, and FMEAs
Hardware-related failure analysis, both independently and within a small team
Preparing documentation and oversight for releases to Manufacturing
Preparing and reviewing test documents, procedures, and reports
Maintaining, following, and enforcing internal design procedures
Supporting the Sales teams on technical items
Customer engagement to develop and refine design specifications
Estimating and meeting design milestone and completion dates
Skills and attributes you possess
:
A degree or diploma in electrical, electronic, or a related engineering field
2 or more years of experience in embedded hardware design or a related field
A demonstrated knowledge of electronic design, including schematic capture and PCB layout using Autodesk Eagle or similar ECAD package
A keen attention to detail with the ability to think through problems analytically and solve them
A Working knowledge of power requirements, design methodologies, PCB routing strategies, and ESD protection requirements
Familiarity with DC/DC converter topologies
The ability to solder surface mount PCB components down to 0402

What would make you stand out from other candidates
:
Hands on experience with Autodesk Eagle
A strong understanding of electronic manufacturing processes, including associated requirements and design constraints for manufacturability
Experience working within an ISO 13485 or ISO 9001 Quality Management System
An interest in becoming an internal auditor for our ISO 13485 Quality Management System
Direct experience with Battery Management System design and implementation using the TI BQ family of products
Experience wiring firmware for Atmel AVR, Microchip PIC, and ARM Cortex MCUs
