Reporting to the maintenance coordinator, the successful candidate must perform tasks relating to the proper functioning and repair of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic equipment. The electromechanical technician works in collaboration with most departments and provides technical support to Production while complying with occupational health and safety regulations.

  • Acting as an electromechanical specialist;
  • Improving the reliability of the systems in place;
  • Performing all required repairs as well as preventive maintenance of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, thermal, electrical, control and production equipment;
  • Reading plans;
  • Performing necessary repairs to buildings and auxiliary systems;
  • Completing inspections of various equipment and facilities (machinery, buildings, etc.);
  • Ensuring that electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic, thermal and mechanical equipment is safe at all times;
  • Participating in the development and follow-up of the preventive and predictive maintenance plan in collaboration with the supervisor;
  • Working in collaboration with various trades during major works;
  • Participating in the planning of machine shutdowns with the coordinator;
  • Fostering communication among team members, and maintaining or improving team spirit;
  • Promoting a healthy and safe work environment;
  • Working with Guide Ti maintenance software;
  • Answering service calls.

Your education :
  • Diploma of vocational studies in Electromechanical Automated System Electromechanics;
  • Diploma of vocational studies in Industrial Maintenance;
  • Two diplomas of vocational studies related to the field;
  • Attestation of vocational studies in Electromechanics.
Your knowledge and competencies :
  • Understanding and interpretation of the various common plant systems;
  • Good knowledge of industrial equipment;
  • Knowledge of French both oral and written;
  • English (an asset);
  • Experience in a manufacturing plant (an asset).
Your skills and abilities :

Working conditions :
  • Schedules available: day and evening (day: Monday to Friday, 4 × 10 hours or 5 × 8 hours; evening: Monday to Friday, 3 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.) with occasional variations depending on the work schedule and production emergencies;
  • Work with various trades;
  • Work outside (possible);
  • Work with a computer;
  • Mandatory safety glasses and boots at all times;
  • Dusty and dirty work environment;
  • Occasional exposure to bitumen vapours or fumes;
  • Availability according to the schedule set to answer service calls for machines;
  • Mandatory valid driver’s licence.
Physical Requirements :
  • Work on machines and occasionally at height;
  • Possible work outside under varying climatic conditions;
  • Frequent load handling.
