BIOVECTRA Inc. is a leading bio-science business in Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia, focused on contract manufacturing and product development of active pharmaceutical ingredients, pharmaceutical intermediates, and bioreagents.

BIOVECTRA Inc. has an immediate opening for an Electromechanical Technician. This is a full-time permanent position located in Charlottetown, PEI. 12 Hour Rotational Shift.


The candidate will be responsible for:

  • Participating in the equipment selection and specification process.
  • Performing and maintaining calibration program in a qualified state.
  • Installing and maintaining instrumentation/electrical/mechanical equipment.
  • Performing assigned maintenance work orders, maintaining spare parts inventory, and maintaining calibration and maintenance history of plant equipment using Blue Mountain software. Including documentation of work performed on work orders using good documentation practices.
  • Participating in impact assessment activities for equipment and utilities to determine critical components (for quality, safety, and environment).
  • Participating in the installation of equipment as per manufacturer\xe2\x80\x99s recommendations and/or engineering designs.
  • Assisting in troubleshooting process equipment and systems.
  • Assisting with repair, calibration, and sourcing replacement parts, as required.
  • Adhering to BIOVECTRA\xe2\x80\x99s Health and Safety Policy as outlined in CP0010 Occupational Health and Safety Policy, Statements of Principle, and Responsibilities.
  • Additional duties assigned, based on business needs and the department supervisor\xe2\x80\x99s request.


The successful candidate for this position should have:
  • Diploma in electromechanical / mechanical / electrical engineering technician.
  • Three - Five years maintenance experience.
  • Ability to read, interpret, piping and instrumentation drawings, facility, and equipment drawings.
  • Knowledge of purchasing procedures, such as tendering and administration of requests.
  • Ability to work within a strict quality system.
  • Industrial experience would be an asset.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of cGMP guidelines an asset.
