Job Title: Junior Mechanic

Job Summary:

Earls Industries is an Engineering, Manufacturing and Certification Company primarily serving Shipping, Stevedoring and Material Handling industries around North America. We are looking for an Electro-Hydraulic Mechanic to assist in our Electro-Hydraulic Mechanical Department. Also, this position will include facility maintenance and custodial duties. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting in assembly and disassembly of electro-hydraulic equipment, assisting with proof load testing of certified lifting attachments, ensuring the facility is clean, organized, and well-maintained. The role involves a high degree of physical work, including lifting equipment and moving materials.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

Assembly and disassembly of electro-hydraulic machinery for customers

Troubleshooting, maintenance and upkeep of in-house machinery

Parts preparation for inspection including documentation and record keeping

Clean industrial areas, including equipment, work surfaces, and floors

Assist with waste disposal and recycling of machining chips and offcuts

Monitor and report any safety hazards, equipment damage, or facility maintenance issues

Operate cleaning equipment such as parts washers and sandblasting cabinet

Operate a steam-powered pressure washer to clean equipment and machinery

Use forklift to move heavy equipment and materials around the facility

Required Qualifications:

Mechanical experience in an industrial setting

Fundamental knowledge of electro-hydraulic systems

Physically able to lift heavy equipment and perform other physically demanding tasks

Ability to work independently and take initiative

Good communication and problem-solving skills

Forklift certification

Preferred Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent

Mechanical or hydraulic vocational

Previous experience in an industrial, mechanical or manufacturing environment

Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment, overhead cranes and forklifts

Work Environment:

The Junior Mechanic will work in a manufacturing facility, which may involve exposure to noise, fumes, and other environmental factors. The role requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as necessary.

Pay: $32.44-$45.56 per hour
