  • Afternoon shift: 4:00 pm to 12:30 am
  • Initial training and onboarding conducted on the day shift (6:00 am to 2:30 pm)

  • Repair critical electrical equipment, perform preventive and predictive maintenance, and complete projects such as mechanical and electrical hardware and software upgrades.
  • Repair or replace control devices such as switches, proximity sensors, push buttons, contactors, motor starts, thermocouples, etc. as needed.
  • Responsible for making PLC program changes, installations or updates to maintain proper operations.
  • Detect, troubleshoot and repair malfunctions in all types of equipment including hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical functions.
  • Read and interpret drawings for conveyors, machines and buildings.
  • Perform routine maintenance work on machinery including conveyors and cranes.
  • Detect and troubleshoot issues related to facilities maintenance, as required.
  • Practice good housekeeping and time management in the performance of daily duties.
  • Comply with Electrical Safety Authority.
  • Comply with all legislated and company health, safety and environmental policies, procedures and programs, including lock-out/tag-out.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, and in a team structure as project requires.
  • All other duties assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must have a minimum of 2-3 years related electrical maintenance experience in an industrial environment.
  • Certification as an Industrial Electrician (442A) or as a Construction Electrician (309A) and strong background in PLC maintenance.
  • Previous crane, conveyor, pneumatic and hydraulic maintenance experience is a definite asset.
  • Skill in interpreting blueprints and technical drawings, especially electrical drawing.
  • Willingness to work on non-electrical diagnoses, repairs and installations in support of other members of the maintenance and production teams when required.
  • Dual ticket Industrial Electrician/Industrial Millwright would be an asset.
Additional Information

Physical Demands: The nature of this position also requires the employee to perform a wide range of physical activities, ranging from pushing and pulling, lifting and carrying heavy objects (50-70lbs), to sitting, climbing, crouching, kneeling, bending and handling with repetitive hand and finger movements. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to focus.

Work Environment: The employee constantly works near moving electrical components and mechanical parts, and is frequently exposed to welding fumes and airborne particles. The employee may also be at risk of experiencing flash burns, skin burns, electrical shocks and high noise levels. Personal Protective Equipment must always be worn (including, but not limited to: CSA approved safety boots, safety eyewear, earplugs).
