SUMMARY:
The Electrician is responsible for diagnoses, installation, maintenance and repairs of electrical equipment, electrical systems and electronic control systems throughout the exhibit and back areas.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
Installations of electrical systems and equipment:

• Installs lighting fixtures, power outlets, control devices or other similar devices
• Installs temporary power systems for events
• Check contracted electrical work for proper installation
• Runs conduit and pulls wire for new or existing electrical installations
• Understand, interpret and work from blueprints/drawings

• Performs electrical support, maintenance and repair of exhibits, equipment and facilities
• Carries out electrical work requests
• Monitors electrical efficiency throughout the building
• Modifies or upgrades existing electrical installations
• Performs preventative maintenance on electrical and electronic equipment

• Diagnoses and repairs malfunctions in electrical equipment or control systems
• Troubleshoot systems as necessary

• Performing additional duties as required.

• 3 – 5 years of experience
• Red Seal Certificate
• Able and willing to work towards acquiring Class A FSR
• Experience in industrial/commercial electrical
• Experience in variable frequency drives and controls would be an asset

• Good time management skills and multi-tasking skills;
• Detail oriented and accurate in execution of duties;
• Good communication skills;
• Good interpersonal skills and presentation skills;
• Ability to perform in fast paced high pressure environments.

• Job requires the incumbent to frequently stand or walk, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl;
• Job requires the ability to safely lift and carry items up to 50lbs;
• Incumbent may be required to work on weekend day and holidays;
• Exposure to risk of electrical shock;
• Exposure to high, precarious places such as ladders and scaffolding and outside weather conditions;
• Exposure to slippery conditions and uneven surfaces.
