Applied Compression Systems has a strong focus on custom designed and fabricated compressor packages for specialized applications in the oil, gas, petrochemical, alternative fuel, waste-to-energy, research, power generation, mining, and manufacturing industries.
As a shop Electrician roles and responsibilities include:
Installing lights, switches, heaters, gas detection, and other devices and on skids and buildings.
Wiring skids including motors, instrumentation, control panels, and devices as per drawings from the electrical design team.
Bending, cutting, and installing conduit (rigid & EMT) and cable tray for power and controls interconnects.
Testing and troubleshooting wiring and operation of packages including supervising package run tests and completing Quality Assurance paperwork.
Build custom junction boxes, control panels, and VFD drives to work in tandem with compressor skids.
Recommended experience and attributes:
1st year Apprentice to Journeyman Electrician.
Industrial electrical experience is preferred.
Conduit bending skills, with rigid conduit experience being an asset.
Enthusiasm to learn new skills.
Basic code knowledge, with Hazardous Location knowledge being an asset.
Ability to work independently and maintain an organized work area.
Proficiency using a multimeter to troubleshoot circuits.
Experience reading electrical drawings.
Hourly rate is dependent on your current active Skilled Trades BC year.
