Our busy Vancouver team are looking to hire an experienced Electrical Project Manager.


The Project Manager forms a viable part of the Introba management team and is responsible for managing his/her respective Project Design Team for the company. The Project Manager provides technical support and management resources essential to Introba for design decision-making and team management accountability.


The Project Manager:
  • Works with Introba Management Team (headed by Managing Principal) to control and coordinate business
    development, sales/marketing, team targets, team personnel, technical design and related activities
  • Develops, establishes, and administers procedures and systems pertaining to team management matters
  • Prepares work load, sales forecasts and team resources/schedule for administrative and managerial functions
  • Serves as the principle liaison with selected clients or major projects
  • Upholds and maintains Introba design standards and will be responsible for engineering, specifications,
    documentation, standardization, quality assurance, cost and value analysis and the broader aspects of Division 16
    electrical building services (plus role of Managing Consultant as required).

You will be fully responsible and accountable for your respective design team staff and, will review staffing regularly, distributing tasks effectively and consistently with staff skill sets. You will work with Human Resources and make recommendations for staff hiring, terminations and issues related to performance discipline.

Responsibilities:
Human Resources
  • Provide the Partnership Management Team with staff performance criteria and information on all design staff
  • Meet regularly (at least twice a month) with all team members to ensure issues are identified and action plans are in
    place
  • Keep track of design team vacation time and schedules
  • Recommend training requirements to Human Resources
  • Provide input to Human Resources on all design team employment issues

Project Work Forecasting
  • Provide workload forecasting as new projects are secured and provide progress analysis regarding prospective
    unsecured projects (integrating efforts of the Marketing and Sales Team)
  • Update Introba accounting system information for effective use by the Marketing and Sales Team
  • Recommend distribution of new work based on staff availability as established by the team workload requirements

Client Liaison/Communication
  • Represent Introba at meetings with project clients and other project stakeholders as required
  • Company representative at related association meetings, plus dealing with city, provincial and federal officials

Teaching Skills
  • Train staff in all phases of design process to insure continuation of technical design operation when absent from the
    office or when staff is on vacation
  • Utilize leadership skills and motivation techniques to maximize employee productivity and satisfaction

Quality Assurance
  • Effect and implement programs to improve the quality of our service, products and systems to meet client\'s
    requirements and expectations and to minimize costs and maximize the company\'s competitive position
  • Instill the concept of quality being the responsibility of every design team member. Promote quality issues with all
    members and in particular ensures that the quality control function is effectively performed
  • Direct the quality assurance and control programs in the company
  • Assure adequate field review services are provided to ensure adherence of contract documents
  • Effect studies to determine cause, effect and corrective actions required to remedy deviations impairing desired
    standards
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years of specific HV, LV, control and lighting design experience
  • Superior interpersonal skills with clients and staff
  • Communication and Coaching skills
  • Minimum of Project Management experience
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities
  • Professional Engineer (C.Eng., P.Eng. or equivalent)
  • LEED Accreditation
