About Island Gold District:

Alamos Gold's Island Gold District will become one of the largest and lowest-cost gold mines in Canada. With the two mines within the district, Island Gold and Magino employ over 900 team members who work in the underground and open pit operations and are located in northern Ontario, just east of the town of Dubreuilville, 83 kilometres northeast of Wawa. Role Overview/Purpose:





The role of the Electrical Planner is to improve work force productivity and work quality by anticipating and eliminating potential delays through planning and coordination of labor, parts and material, equipment access, and maintain the designed reliability of equipment. Create job plans to ensure or extend life expectancy of equipment therefore aiding in the total reduction of maintenance cost and increased output of product.


Primary Responsibilities:



Schedule the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate processes for material delivery from supplier to point of use Conducts field walk downs to identify and document job requirements Identifies safety hazards that will be encountered in the performance of the proposed work Day-to-day order management and management of deliveries Understand and manage risks to minimize impact on production schedules Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers and ensure demand for materials is met and deliveries are made on time Support supplier meetings and negotiations to ensure demand for materials is met Create regular statistical reports and analysis and update others in the organization Manage maintenance data collection and information gathering to more effectively, provide the planned maintenance service in the future Maximize equipment reliability through using planned maintenance most effectively

Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications and Experience:




5 years work experience in electrical maintenance field Strong electrical aptitude Some level of supervisory experience is desirable Ability to write detailed repair report Able to perform some level of cost analysis and work withing a structured budget Journeyman Red Seal Certification or Degree in Electrical Engineering Good computer skills Self-starter who can anticipate need and work in a team setting and independently Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail and critical thinking Able to manage tasks in a fast-paced, growing work environment Experienced using SAP

Working Conditions:




The planner position will be working both indoors and outdoors at times. The rotation will consist of 7 days on 7 days off schedule.
