This position is a 6-month internship beginning in Summer 2023. Internship could extend beyond 6 months based on candidate availability.

About the role:

In our Research & Development Engineering Department, our Engineers focus on the ideation, design, prototyping, and manufacturing transfer of cutting-edge devices for use in medical procedures. As a Systems Engineering Intern, you will work alongside our talented engineering group to design electronic boards and assemblies for a variety of capital equipment and products.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Researches, develops, designs, and evaluates electrical and electro-mechanical material, components, assemblies, processes and/or equipment.
  • Conducts feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality.
  • Develops new concepts from initial design to market release.
  • Directs support personnel and coordinates project activities.
  • Maintains detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development.
  • Continuously improve processes and work methodologies (using agile/lean principles to eliminate waste) to help solve complex problems.
  • Contribute to software/system risk assessment activities, Use Design FMEA\'s activities.
Required qualifications
  • Actively working towards or a degree in Engineering or graduated in 2023.
  • 0 - 1 years of experience with product development activities in a regulated industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in a team environment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Strong documentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with power circuit design / power semiconductors and magnetic components.
  • Experience with analog circuit design.
  • Experience with low-speed digital circuit design.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work with a team efficiently and independently.
