Job Description

We currently have an opportunity within our operation for an Electrical & Instrumentation Tradesperson at Irving Pulp & Paper in Saint John, NB.

As an Electrical & Instrumentation Tradesperson you will perform all aspects of electrical and instrumentation maintenance and repairs at the Pulp mill. As well you will perform the required troubleshooting, programming and research to maintain and improve existing distributed controls, programmable controls, mill process controls and electrical distribution systems. You will assist in continuous improvement through instrument tuning and system program changes. On call coverage and shift work may be required.

We operate four Pulp and Paper Mills out of Saint John and St. George, New Brunswick that produce a combined 1 Million Tonnes of Product and employ over 1000 employees.

You Have:

• Industrial Controls Technology Diploma, or an Industrial Electrical Journeyman license, or an Instrumentation Journeyman License.
• Industrial experience in a similar industry would be considered an asset
• Possess knowledge of Plant Instrumentation and Electrical systems, Emerson and Honeywell Distributed Control Systems, Programmable Logic Controls, Variable Speed Drives (stand alone and coordinated paper machine applications)
• Possess working knowledge of high voltage switchgear, transformers and system protection as well as computer experience
• Problem Solving ability
• Self-motivated and have a strong personal drive
• Team player with interpersonal skills
• Electrical aptitude
