Responsibilities

Reporting to the E&A Lead Engineer, the E&A Reliability Engineer is responsible for systematically analyzing non-conformities & technical reliability issues of instrumentation, electrical/automation systems & installations, driving compliance & improvement actions.

  • Ensure IA & E installation breakdowns & maximize availability determining possible fault modes & initiating change to productivity & equipment cost of ownership
  • Ensure IA & E installations are inspected & maintained with Yara best practices by having the optimum preventive maintenance plans in SAP
  • Participate/support equipment reliability related to RCM studies, FMEAs, FMECAs, Criticality Analysis & RCAs
  • Drive compliance -Yara Tops deviations-own actions to eliminate deviations
  • Establish a preventive maintenance/spare parts program, an efficient monitoring/follow-up process to ensure reliable operation of safety & reliability critical controls & instrumentation
  • Contribute/improve an effective asset management & reliability tracking process resulting in measurable & sustainable maintenance cost reductions
  • Create preventative replacement plans & progress business ideas to project completion.
  • Monitor the implementation/performance of site preventative maintenance plans and drive improvement ideas
  • Perform project management duties on assigned projects & deliver the project scope safely and within the agreed cost and time frame
  • Perform troubleshooting/problem-solving activities and issue RCA as required and drive detailed technical investigations & lessons learned sessions
  • Assist in improving product reliability through collaboration with suppliers
Education, Experience & Skill
  • The successful candidate will possess a bachelor\'s degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
  • At least 5 years of related experience
  • P.Eng. or the ability to register with APEGS is an asset
  • Extensive knowledge of process control and instrumentation systems as well as electrical installations
  • Experience in a heavy industrial plant (such as fertilizer, oil refinery or chemical plant) setting is required
  • Applicants must have demonstrated effective interpersonal, communication and analytical skills
