A division of Liburdi Dimetrics is GAPCO (The Great Atlantic and Pacific Pipe Welding & Construction Company, Inc.), a provider of welding solutions to the construction and power energy industries. Through the use of state of the art technology, advanced weld engineering, skilled trades and project management, Liburdi offers customers high quality service and product.
We are currently seeking a candidate who is qualified for the role of
Regular travel within North America, including the Golden Horseshoe, is required and is expected to account for at least 50% of the role. Travel may be required with as little as 48 hours' notice. Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. when based at our Dundas, Ontario manufacturing facility. While at customer sites, the successful candidate must be flexible to support both day and night shifts.
Typical Duties Include (but are not limited to):
Troubleshooting, installing, setting up and repairing automated welding equipment
Maintaining equipment service logs
Maintaining spare parts lists
Installing, setting up and commissioning equipment at site at Liburdi's production facilities
Completing quality testing of robotic welding systems
Providing equipment maintenance and calibration support for Liburdi fleet of equipment
Intermittent lifting up to 50lb
Occasionally working in confined spaces, at heights or other potentially hazardous worksites
Occasional international travel to customer sites for extended periods of time
Working in nuclear facilities and/or oil and gas installations
Key Skill Requirements:
Experience in Microsoft applications, computer software and hardware
Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude
Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team
Solid customer service skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Excellent problem solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills
Organized and project driven
Strong multi-tasker
Key Experience/Education:
Electrical, Electronic or Electromechanical Technician or Technologist diploma is required
Previous experience travelling in North America is an asset
Previous experience travelling Internationally is an asset
Previous experience self-booking travel arrangements is an asset
3-5 years' experience working in a welding equipment manufacturing environment is preferred
