Job Overview


We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Electrical Project Manager/Estimator to oversee and coordinate electrical construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership abilities, extensive knowledge of electrical systems, and experience in project management within the construction industry. A perfect opportunity for a semi-retired or former electrical contracting business owner. This role involves managing project timelines, budgets, and client relationships while ensuring safety and quality standards are met. The Electrical Project Manager/Estimator will play a critical role in delivering successful projects that meet client specifications and company objectives.

Responsibilities



Attend walk-throughs and site meetings as required. Understand and thoroughly review drawings for electrical as well as structural, architectural and mechanical. Prepare take-offs from drawings provided or create the drawing, estimate material, labour, sub-trade, equipment rentals, permits and fees looking at the entire project. Study drawings and blueprints to determine the electrical requirements of various projects and provide accurate material take-off to be submitted to multiple suppliers for pricing; obtain and determine the lowest supplier quotation. You may be required to get quotes from sub-contractors whose pricing is needed to be carried under the electrical quote. Prepare proposals to submit bids on projects and small jobs. Lead and manage electrical construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams to facilitate smooth project execution. Negotiate contracts, change orders, and pricing to optimize project profitability while maintaining strong client relationships. Oversee procurement of materials and equipment necessary for project execution. Monitor project progress regularly, identify potential issues early, and implement corrective actions as needed. Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards throughout all phases of construction. Prepare reports on project status, costs, risks, and other key metrics for senior management.

Experience



Proven experience in electrical construction management or a related field with a strong understanding of electrical systems and installation processes. Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies within the construction industry. Strong negotiation skills to manage contracts, pricing, and vendor relationships effectively. Knowledge of construction estimating techniques and pricing strategies to ensure accurate budgeting and cost control. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under tight deadlines.
