Role Responsibilities
Participate in kick off meetings to determine project scope, requirements, deliverables, budget and schedules
Design and develop electrical circuits for motor controls using MCC's, VFD's and Soft Starters
Perform calculations and size electrical components using Canadian and American standards and codes
Design control circuits for temperature and pressure controls using programmable controllers and relay logic
Prepare electrical drawings and panel layouts using AutoCAD Electrical
Coordinate and integrate starter panels and MCC'S design with control systems design
Prepare bills of material and issue material requisitions to purchasing department using SAP software
Provide technical support to Panel Shop and electricians during manufacturing and testing process
Assist Service Department with troubleshooting and equipment start-ups when required
Liaise with project engineering and mechanical department, customers, and suppliers
Participate in Continuous Improvement /Lean Manufacturing meetings
Required Professional Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications
Post-Secondary Degree in Electrical Engineering or completion of a relevant Mechatronics program/courses.
Professional Engineer Designation is an asset
Electrical Engineering Experience
Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical
Knowledge of CSA & UL Codes and Standards
Knowledge of AC motors protection and controls using conventional and modern techniques is required
Knowledge of electrical and electronic instrumentations is required
Knowledge of control strategies for refrigeration equipment and systems would be an asset
Familiarity with SAP software would be an asset
Experience with control panels manufacturing processes
Good team player, ability to work independently and accept responsibilities
Ability to schedule work, deal with conflicts and meet deadlines
Ability to document engineering designs, prepare record files
Ability to troubleshoot electrical problems
Ability to coordinate with panel shop personnel & electricians to ensure successful project completion
Be comfortable working in the Burlington office, Monday through Fridays
