JOB TITLE: Electrical Engineer/Designer (Switchgear) DEPARTMENT: Engineering RIC Power Corp., a manufacturer of medium voltage switchgear, including protection and control systems, is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join its team in Burnaby, BC. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and creation of electrical schematics and control drawings in CAD for customer approval and fabrication
- Creation of bills of materials
- Work within existing protocols for creation / storage of parts, assemblies and drawings
- Maintenance and updating of existing parts and assembly drawings to create fabrication drawings for use by our production team
- Review of designs for manufacturability and cost effectiveness
- Work with the production team on developing assembly details and work instructions for complicated assemblies
- Dispositioning non-conformance reports and support of ISO quality management system
- Extreme attention to detail
- Proficient with DraftSight, AutoCAD (or similar CAD program)
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards such as CSA, IEEE and UL
- Electrical engineering degree/diploma
- Experience in low and medium voltage switchgear design
- Experience with electrical protection relays (SEL and GE in particular)
- 5+ years in electrical power system design to CSA/IEEE standards
