Job Description

JOB TITLE: Electrical Engineer/Designer (Switchgear) DEPARTMENT: Engineering RIC Power Corp., a manufacturer of medium voltage switchgear, including protection and control systems, is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join its team in Burnaby, BC. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Design and creation of electrical schematics and control drawings in CAD for customer approval and fabrication
• Creation of bills of materials
• Work within existing protocols for creation / storage of parts, assemblies and drawings
• Maintenance and updating of existing parts and assembly drawings to create fabrication drawings for use by our production team
• Review of designs for manufacturability and cost effectiveness
• Work with the production team on developing assembly details and work instructions for complicated assemblies
• Dispositioning non-conformance reports and support of ISO quality management system

ESSENTIAL SKILLS:

• Extreme attention to detail
• Proficient with DraftSight, AutoCAD (or similar CAD program)
• Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards such as CSA, IEEE and UL

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Electrical engineering degree/diploma
• Experience in low and medium voltage switchgear design
• Experience with electrical protection relays (SEL and GE in particular)
• 5+ years in electrical power system design to CSA/IEEE standards
