Electrical Engineer - Multi-Disciplinary Projects



We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Electrical Engineer to join our aggressively growing team in Southern Alberta. In this role, you will take a lead in designing electrical power systems, lighting, lighting controls, and life safety systems for a wide range of projects including commercial, industrial, residential, and agricultural facilities. You will play a key part in ensuring the reliability, resilience and long-term performance of our clients' buildings while consistently delivering projects on schedule.

Responsibilities



Develop comprehensive electrical design for small, medium and large multi-discipline projects through its entirety for each project. Review, edit, modify and approve electrical engineering work assigned to this position. Prepare planning schedules for the resources and completion times for all assigned projects. Monitor actual resource usage and deadlines; act in conjunction with other staff members to correct cost over-runs and delays in completion. Mediate and resolve disputes and problems with clients, contractors, regulatory and government officials. Provide support to structural, mechanical and other disciplines in the development of design documents. Conduct on-site reviews of construction and renovation projects, to observe and evaluate the progress and quality of the work being performed. Periodically travel to project sites on an as required basis.

Requirements



Eligible to register as a P.Eng., P.L.Eng. or P.Tech.(Eng.) in Alberta At least 5 years of relevant experience Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities



Prior experience with building electrical design Knowledge of current requirements of Regulatory authorities Experience dealing with contractors Strong verbal and written communication skills, and a willingness to function in a team-based environment Proven ability to work with minimal oversight and demonstrated self-initiative Well-developed client management expertise Aptitude for and general understanding of construction methods and procedures including subdivision development
