Sacr\xc3\xa9-Davey currently has an opportunity for Electrical Designers. These are intermediate-senior level staff or contract positions. We are seeking highly motivated, self-directed individuals with excellent technical and organizational skills, the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, who takes pride in producing quality work with a high degree of accuracy and superior attention to detail. An ideal candidate will have experience with using 2D and 3D AutoCAD for electrical design in an engineering consulting environment.

Position Responsibilities:

• Working closely with engineers to develop electrical drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, engineering calculations, specification sheets, and other data, to be issued for a wide range of industries.

• Producing electrical single lines, three lines, schematics, wiring, layouts, etc. in accordance with established guidelines and client specs using AutoCAD.

• Preparing and assisting in the release of drawings and documentation for projects.

• Performing calculations in accordance with established methods.

• Checking and revising drawings.

• Performing site visits/audits and assessment of existing infrastructure such as switchgear, MCCs, control panels, cable tray, etc. in support of the engineering team. Site visits are subject to governing health and safety protocols. All required PPE will be provided.

• Actively working on improving drafting skills and increasing knowledge of electrical design though self-training, in-house training and external courses.

Qualifications

• 7 to 10 years demonstrated experience as an Electrical Designer on industrial projects.

• Familiar with Canadian Electrical Code and other relevant standards.

• Experience in using AutoCAD is required.

• Knowledge of ETAP, CADWorx & Plant 3D and Microstation would be an asset.

• Self-starter with the ability to work with minimal direction.

• Completion of a diploma or degree in drafting/design.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).

• Able to communicate professionally, both verbally and in writing.

• Attentive to detail, with a high personal standard for quality of work.

• Organized and able to deal with multiple tasks.
