Electrical Draftsperson

Job Description



Dependable Truck and Tank Ltd. is looking for an Electrical Draftsman/Woman to plan and complete electrical writing layouts, schematics and BOM lists for custom Highway Tanker vehicles. These vehicles will be carrying dangerous goods such as petroleum and propane.

  • The ideal candidate is expected to have at least 2-3 years of experience in using Solidworks Electrical, Solidworks Routing and AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Supplementary knowledge of other software tools to create electric wiring and mechatronic schematics and wire routing plans is considered an asset.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience working with electrical wiring on commercial vehicles is considered an asset.
  • Experience in CANbus and Multiplex communications on commercial vehicles is not a requirement but is also considered an asset.
  • Needs to have a good understanding of the SAE J1127.
  • Must be able to work as a team in a fast-paced environment and be able to take criticism.
  • Proficiency in mathematics and the physical science that governs electricity is also considered an asset.


Education Requirements:
Secondary School + Electrical Design Technician or Electrical Engineering Technician Certificate from an Ontario College or equivalent.
