From 26 offices in 15 countries, with projects in over 80 locations worldwide, we create sustainable outcomes for our people, clients and communities.Our team in Canada is growing, we are currently recruiting for a Electrical Distribution Designer to join our Industrial & Infrastructure Business line in the Burnaby/Vancouver office (hybrid).About the Role

• Prepare project specifications for the purchase and installation of materials and equipment
• Utilize prior experience with BC Hydro Design, DAD, and Passport as an asset
• Design electrical distribution facilities, including line layouts, foundations, structure configurations, and insulator and conductor specifications.
• Resolve site queries, attend site meetings, and perform site inspections prior to and during the construction phase of projects.
• Prepare all necessary project documentation, including budgets, schedules, work plans, technical specifications, tender documents, and project calculations.
• Allocate tasks to and provide guidance for other designers and drafters.
• Review and correct the work of other designers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Track the status of designs under review and submittal, providing project progress reports to the Project Manager.
• Mentor and train junior team members, offering ongoing support and knowledge-sharing.
• Conduct the final review and approval of drawings before issuance to the customer.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, contractors, associates, and team members.
• Serve as a subject matter expert in the Junior Technologist role and related areas of expertise, as needed.
• Ensure designs meet relevant regulatory, stakeholder, and construction standards.
• Collaborate with resources such as Engineers and construction crews to validate design constructability and assess impacts on future operation and maintenance. Document and address known safety risks before construction.

QualificationsAbout You

• Technology diploma from an accredited educational institution
• 2-5 yearsxe2x80x99 experience preferably in an engineering consulting environment
• Experience with AutoCAD
• Proven attention to detail
• Strong analytical skills
• Excellent Written and oral communication skills
• Commitment and enthusiasm for learning
• Able to work and communicate in a team environment
• Ability to quickly absorb and use company-specific techniques, standards and procedures
• Knowledge and / or experience of distribution software
