Electrical Designer - Full Time - Whitby, Canada

Join our team within the Chemtech division of Sulzer Canada as an Electrical Designer to help us take FRC to the next level.
In this role you will be accountable for:

  • Creating high resolution 3D renderings for sales purposes
  • Preparing design concepts, sketches, or models for approval
  • Consulting with engineers and production staff during manufacturing stage
  • Preparing manufacturing drawings, specifications and guidelines for production and constructing prototype designs
  • Preparing and interpreting engineering designs, drawings and specifications for machines and components using SolidWorks as well as AutoCAD
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned

To succeed in this role, you will need:
  • Experience in sheet metal design
  • Experience with welding, or ability to learn
  • Experience designing machines for manufacture
  • Familiarity with data management and revision control
  • Proficiency in MS Office (formulas, formatting, Outlook)
  • Journeyman designation in a mechanical field would be an asset
  • Experience using Autodesk Revit for draft and pre-construction drawings would be an asset
  • Knowledge of waste management, or water treatment equipment/industry would be an asset
  • Experience with SolidWorks or a related software package, and knowledge of modeling and related tools
  • Willingness to take occasional criminal record/drug tests for US clients

If you possess a post-secondary degree or diploma in mechanical engineering, drafting, mechanical design or similar discipline, take the next step and make the most of your design skills.
