Join our Ts'ixwts'ixwnitway Member Services team and contribute to the strength of Sk?wx?wu7mesh Uxwumixw by supporting and uplifting one of our most cherished groups -- our Elders. The Elder's Program Manager plays a central leadership role in ensuring culturally safe, equitable, and empowering services for over 1,000 Elders across the Nation.


This position requires a skilled and compassionate leader who thrives on building respectful relationships, advocating for Elder well-being, and ensuring smooth daily operations. Your work will directly support the development and expansion of the Elder's Program, guided by Squamish values, culture, and language.

What You'll Do


------------------

Lead daily operations of the Elder's Program, ensuring culturally safe, inclusive, and equitable services across North Shore, Squamish Valley, and Away-from-Home Elders. Supervise and support the Elder's Program Administrative Officer, Team Leads, and staff, fostering teamwork and collaboration across sites. Collaborate with the Director of Member Services and the Manager and Director of Squamish Valley Operations to implement the Elder's Program Annual Workplan and support the Elder's Program Plan. Manage and monitor Elder's Program budgets, ensuring equitable allocation and responsible use of resources. Oversee staff recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and adherence to the Elder's Program Snew?iyelh (Respectful Relationships Code). Advocate for Elder needs internally and with external partners, ensuring trauma-informed and culturally safe care. Build strong relationships with Elders by attending luncheons, activities, and events, ensuring the program reflects community needs and priorities. Support fundraising, grant development, and reporting to sustain and expand Elder's Program services. Guide policy development, evaluation, and continuous program improvement.

What We're Looking For

Bachelor's degree in social work, Counselling, Gerontology, Public Health, Education, or related discipline. Training in conflict resolution and/or mediation. Indigenous Cultural Safety training (recent or willingness to complete). Minimum 5 years' experience in program management, advocacy, or senior-level administration, ideally supporting Elders or vulnerable populations. Strong leadership skills with demonstrated ability to supervise and support diverse teams. Proven experience in budgeting, reporting, fundraising, and policy development. Excellent communication, diplomacy, and conflict resolution skills. Deep understanding of colonization and Residential School impacts, with a commitment to cultural humility and trauma-informed practice. Knowledge of Squamish Nation governance, protocols, and community values an asset. Cultural humility and respect for Sk?wx?wu?7mesh values, sovereignty, and self-determination.

Salary:

$75,000 - $112,500


Candidates are typically offered compensation between the beginning to the midpoint of the range. We are committed to providing a fair and equitable package that reflects the value an individual brings to the organization.
