for a hybrid role that requires both field and office work. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who wants to combine their engineering expertise with project controls responsibilities in the dynamic upstream oil and gas sector.
o Initially, work closely with the Estimating team to gain an understanding of our project workflows.
o Collaborate with our Engineering team to design and implement cutting-edge upstream oil and gas products commonly used in Montney, Duvernay, and Cardium fields.
o Perform engineering calculations and simulations following industry practices to develop increasingly efficient products.
o Participate in field visits as needed to validate and optimize existing designs.
o Contribute to engineering reports and documentation, including cost estimation, in a multi-disciplinary environment.
Project Controls (Starting May 2025):
o Facilitate project controls for a deep-cut straddle plant project lasting 12-15 months, providing key support to the construction management team.
o Develop and manage daily reports, vet project timesheets for accurate cost allocation, and generate detailed shift reports for earned value analysis and forecasting.
o Monitor the project schedule daily, making updates weekly to ensure alignment with project goals.
o Assist in the timely preparation and submission of change orders.
Post-Project Role:
o After the completion of the straddle plant project, return to a technical engineering role, focusing on pipe stress analysis, structural analysis, pressure and flow calculations, and other traditional engineering responsibilities.
Required Qualifications and Competencies:
Engineering Degree with a major in mechanical or process engineering.
Must meet all requirements to be registered as an EIT with
APEGA
.
Experience with 3D design software.
Strong computer skills, including:
o Fast typing ability.
o Proficiency in
Microsoft Excel
and
Teams

o Database and programming skills (asset).
o Experience with
Navisworks Freedom/Simulate
(asset).
o Experience with
CADWorx
(asset).
o Experience with
MS Projects
(asset).

Earning rate: $32/hr., with a move to $35/hr. after the three months' probation.
