Job Description


Our client, a well-established and growing manufacturing company, is currently seeking an experienced Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to join their team. This role is a critical leadership position responsible for driving environmental compliance and fostering a proactive safety culture across all levels of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of the company's EHS programs and initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, provincial/state, and municipal environmental, health and safety regulations.
  • Oversee emissions monitoring and environmental reporting in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct safety audits, hazard assessments, and incident investigations; ensure root cause analysis and corrective actions are completed.
  • Champion a safety-first culture by developing and delivering effective training and awareness programs.
  • Maintain records, SDSs, permits, and ensure all EHS documentation is current and compliant.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and lead responses to inspections or compliance inquiries.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, supervisors, and leadership to embed EHS practices into daily operations.
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a dedicated EHS role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian (or U.S., depending on region) environmental regulations, including air emissions and waste management.
  • Professional designation such as CRSP, CSP, or CHSC is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cultural change and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience managing EHS programs across multiple departments or sites is an asset.
