Reporting to the Plant Manager, the EHS Coordinator will be based on-site to support occupational risk management and environmental stewardship. You'll play a hands-on role in assisting with development and implementation of EHS programs, aligned with CertainTeed Canada's strategy and Saint-Gobain's global EHS Charter.


What You'll Be Doing:




Collaborate with employees on risk assessment, incident reporting and work with supervisors/managers on control measures and corrective action plans. Lead EHS onboarding sessions for new employees and contractors on site. Support the deployment, review of SG Health & Safety Standards (SMATs, CRs, etc.) on 4orms and Safety Plus. Actively participate in the Joint Health & Safety Committee activities, including workplace inspections, documenting meeting minutes and updates to the health & safety board. Help organize EHS events such as campaigns, training sessions, and EHS Day. Coordinate and facilitate various occupational hygiene sampling, respiratory protection and noise conservation program. Assist with development, review of EHS site-specific procedures and monitor compliance. Record keeping and documentation (inspection records, permits, training records and matrix, incident reports, etc.) to ensure compliance with legal and internal standards. Assist with environmental compliance by collecting data and liaising with consultants and government agencies. Other duties as required.


IS THIS JOB FOR YOU?




Occupational Health and Safety Certificate or Diploma. 1-2 years of experience in a similar EHS role. 5+ years of experience in a unionized manufacturing environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to lead training sessions and group presentations. Ability to develop/write health and safety programs and procedures. A keen eye for detail and the ability to conduct thorough incident investigations. Familiarity with AB legislation and industry standards. Knowledge of WCB reporting and return-to-work processes. Ability to work with and maintain confidentiality and sensitive information.
