What will you do?


As an Educator Level 1, you will lead children in activities to stimulate and develop their intellectual, physical, and emotional growth and ensure their security and well-being. You will also have the opportunity to organize and implement programs for children ranging from infant care up to out-of-school-care.


As a Child Care Kitchen Helper, you will be responsible for supporting the Child Care Chef with the daily operations of the kitchen. To clean, stock, maintain the kitchen as well as help with the preparation of meal ingredients

You will posses the following:

• Passion for children that shines through in all you do
• Understanding that behaviors are a type of communication, and ability to translate theses to support the children's needs
• Positive reinforcement and feedback to encourage a child's growth and confidence
• Some knowledge and understanding of the Provincial Child Care Regulations
• Safety first attitude
• Able to work independently in a kitchen setting
• Strong advocate of nutrition
• Demonstrate sound knowledge of proper food handling procedures
• Ability to prepare and cook large volumes for up to 150 children daily
• Ability to handle food allergies and food substitution
• Ability to wash, peel, cut, and slice of ingredients
• Ability to sweep and mop areas
• Team player, organized, flexible

Required Qualifications to Work at Kepler Academy

• Previous experience in childcare
• Child Development Certificate issued in the Province of Albert. Level 1 required
• Vulnerable Sector Police Information Check
• Food Safety Certificate
• Standard First Aid certificate
