The Office of Academic and Student Affairs at the Atlantic Veterinary College is currently accepting applications for a 0.4 FTE Educational Consultant. This position reports to the Associate Dean of Academic Affairs of the Atlantic Veterinary College (AVC) and works collaboratively with college faculty. The responsibilities of this position facilitate the Standards of Accreditation as per the American Veterinary Medical Association's (AVMA) Council on Education (COE).RESPONSIBILITIES:Outcomes and Curriculum MappingIdentify and define learning outcomes for the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) programDevelop and implement a preclinical and clinical curriculum mapAlign course outcomes with the AAVMC Competency-Based Veterinary Education frameworkCurriculum Committee SupportCompile and analyze survey data on program outcomesProvide consultation to course coordinatorsPrepare reports for the Curriculum Committee on programmatic outcomesFaculty and Student Educational SupportServe as a key contact for faculty seeking instructional supportOrganize faculty workshops on instructional design and assessmentOffer expert feedback on didactic and clinical teaching methodologiesAssist faculty in developing effective assessment techniquesContribute to the creation of educational resources for students and recruitment effortsQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's or Professional Degree in Education (Advanced degree preferred)Minimum of five years of relevant experience in educational developmentExperience in curriculum design and pedagogical techniquesStrong expertise in learning outcomes and assessment methods (including multiple-choice and practical assessments)Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectivelyStrong written and verbal communication skillsProven experience building relationships with faculty and studentsApplication Instructions:Please submit electronically a cover letter, quoting the competition number, a resume and reference list to be received no later than the closing date via the link below.If you are unable to apply online, you can drop off your resume to the Human Resources Department, Kelley Building, University of Prince Edward Island, 550 University Avenue, Charlottetown, PEI C1A 4P3, Fax Number 902-894-2895.UPEI is committed to equity, diversity, inclusion, and reconciliation and believes in providing a positive learning and working environment where every person feels empowered to contribute.
