Position Summary




The successful candidate will be supporting students in Kindergarten through Grade 12 at a school with a combined focus on arts and academics.

Job Duties/Responsibilities




  • supporting students in Kindergarten through Grade 12
  • providing one-on-one and small group support
  • assisting with planning and adapting curriculum to meet the individual needs of students under the guidance of the teacher
  • providing literacy, numeracy, socialization and behaviour support
  • supporting the social/emotional needs of students
  • supervising students at school arrival and departure, lunch, recess and field trips


Education/Qualifications




  • a two year post secondary program in a related field
  • a minimum of one year of related experience preferably in an educational environment
  • experience working with and providing interventions to students who have developmental delays and learning disabilities
  • experience supporting students who have emotional and/or behavioural challenges and physical/medical disabilities
  • proven ability to implement effective de-escalation strategies
  • excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills
  • proven success in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships
  • NVCI, First Aid


Rate of Pay




$21.09 - $26.50 per hour
