The Education Counsellor plays a key role in guiding prospective students through the admissions process at CMU College of Makeup Art & Design. This position involves providing accurate program information, assisting with applications, and ensuring a positive experience for all prospective students--from their first inquiry through enrollment. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong customer service mindset, and a genuine passion for helping individuals achieve their educational and career goals in the creative arts industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Student Recruitment & Counselling
Respond promptly to inquiries from prospective students via phone, email, and in-person consultations.
Advise potential students on CMU's programs, admissions requirements, start dates, and career pathways.
Conduct individual and group counselling sessions to assist applicants in identifying suitable programs based on their interests and goals.
Guide applicants through the admissions and enrollment process, ensuring completion of all required documents.
Admissions & Enrollment
Support the admissions team in reviewing applications and verifying supporting materials.
Follow up with applicants to ensure timely submission of documents and deposits.
Maintain accurate records of prospective student communications and progress using the college's CRM or admissions software.
Contribute to achieving monthly and annual enrollment targets.
Outreach & Representation
Participate in on-campus events, open houses, information sessions, and education fairs to promote CMU programs.
Represent CMU at external recruitment events, including high school visits and career fairs.
Customer Service & Administration
Ensure a positive and professional experience for all prospective students and families.
Provide accurate and up-to-date information on tuition fees, payment options, financial aid, and student services.
Collaborate with marketing, admissions, and student services teams to streamline the student experience.
Provide regular reports on inquiries, applications, and conversion rates to management.
Qualifications & Experience:
Postsecondary degree or diploma in Education, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
Minimum 2-3 years of experience in student recruitment, admissions, or academic counselling (preferably in post-secondary or private education).
Strong understanding of the Canadian education system and international student requirements.
Previous experience in a creative arts environment is an asset.
