This is an office-based position located in Edmonton.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE



AIC is seeking a detail oriented and service focused Education Coordinator to support the delivery and oversight of Alberta's Continuing Education (CE) accreditation program. You enjoy working with regulations, education programs, and structured processes, and you have a talent for reviewing information carefully and consistently. You communicate clearly, support stakeholders with professionalism, and build collaborative relationships across teams. The team



The Education team is responsible for managing all education, examination, and accreditation activities that support the licensing and continuing education of insurance professionals in Alberta. The team ensures education programs meet regulatory standards, supports the fair administration of examinations, and evaluates the quality and compliance of accredited course providers and their programs. Through this work, the team plays a vital role in upholding professional standards and protecting consumers.

The role



The Education Coordinator plays a key role in supporting Alberta's Continuing Education (CE) accreditation program and maintaining high quality education standards for insurance professionals. You will evaluate CE course submissions, provide guidance to education providers, maintain accurate accreditation records, and support CE compliance monitoring. You will also contribute to policy and program development, participate in departmental improvement initiatives, and assist with cross functional projects that strengthen AIC's education systems and processes.

Key responsibilities



Course review & accreditation

Provide guidance on CE accreditation requirements, deadlines, and quality standards. Evaluate course submissions to ensure compliance with AIC and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate records of approved courses and providers and support improvements to the accreditation process. Support random audits of course providers and act as a contact for accreditation inquiries.
Continuing Education (CE) Program

Respond to CE inquiries from agents and adjusters. Monitor CE compliance trends and assist in reporting. Collaborate with other departments to address CE deficiencies and support education initiatives.
Education department support

Contribute to development and updates of CE program standards, guidelines, and procedures. Participate in cross functional projects related to education, licensing, and professional development. Assist with testing education related systems, reviewing enhancements, and supporting improvements. Support onboarding of new team members and provide coverage during staff absences.

THE REQUIREMENTS



Qualifications & experience

Bachelor's degree in Education, Business Administration, Public Policy, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in insurance industry training, education administration, and/or regulatory compliance. Strong understanding of adult learning principles and CE frameworks.
Assets

Experience with regulatory bodies, Instructional design, Curriculum development, Familiarity with Alberta's Insurance Act.
Employment is conditional on a clear criminal record check at the cost of AIC.

Skills & competencies

Service?oriented approach with the ability to support CE providers, licensees, and internal teams. Working knowledge of the Insurance Act, related regulations, and AIC education policies. Experience interpreting and applying legislation, policies, and accreditation standards in an education or regulatory environment. Ability to interpret legislation, policies, and accreditation standards. Strong analytical and problem?solving skills for reviewing course submissions and recommend improvements or decisions. High attention to detail, accuracy, and record management. Solid understanding of privacy legislation and best practices. Familiarity with learning management systems, examination platforms, and accreditation frameworks. Strong written and verbal communication skills for professional correspondence and stakeholder support. Ability to organize work, set objectives and priorities, manage time effectively, and achieve established work goals, Ability to maintain collaborative relationships and manage challenging interactions professionally. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with database systems.
