FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES :



Under the supervision of the Coordinator of the Nunavik Sivunitsavut (NS) program, the Education Consultant will have the following responsibilities, among others:


Collaborate closely with College Ahuntsic to advance the development of new programs.
Develop pedagogical material for new programs in collaboration with partner organizations, teachers and staff.
Deliver pedagogical material designed to respond to the needs of students who will be attending this new program by May 2026.
Analyze and recommend the purchase of learning materials, supplementary materials, equipment, software and program packages in French.
Provide advice and support to teachers either individually or in a group format in matters relating to their daily teaching activities.
Participate in the recruitment of new students for the program.
Make recommendations and provide critical feedback to sponsored students, Post-Secondary Student Services (PSSS) staff, and external institutional staff on how to best adapt their practices aimed at student success.
Regularly meet with students to ensure appropriate follow-up and to adjust the necessary teaching strategies.
Perform any other duties or tasks deemed relevant and necessary by the Director or Coordinator of the NS program.




QUALIFICATIONS :



University Bachelor's degree in education, administration, social sciences, or in a related field.



The Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualifications if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Quebec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.





REQUIREMENTS :


Fluency in French and a second language (either English or Inuktitut)--three languages is considered an asset;
Must be able to travel to Nunavik;
Must be willing to work independently and be in regular communication with various organizations and partners.




CLASSIFICATION/ SALARY/ BENEFITS :



In accordance with the SPPENOM collective agreement for professionals. This position belongs to job category 2104: from $49,456 to $92,027 annually depending on qualification and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
