We are currently seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Manager to join our Edmonton Sales team on a full-time, permanent basis.
Primary Job Purpose
The Sales Manager is responsible for effectively and efficiently managing the Sales development and direction of the sales team (builder, retail, renovator, commercial etc) to drive the growth of revenue, technical productivity and promote high quality customer satisfaction while building relationships and ensuring the integration of strategic plans with company operations.
Specific Responsibilities
Establish the overall vision and direction for the Sales team while controlling expenses and costs to meet budget guidelines.
Knowledge of the Divine product line with the ability to demonstrate technical understanding of all the product categories.
Commits to updating career knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks and participating in sales market related industry functions
Develop and implement new business strategies for creating or improving processes and procedures to improve performance of Edmonton Sales team
Maintain and build strong relationships with Senior Management, Mid managers & Construction staff of current Builder/Renovator customers.
Create Sales strategies to attain maximum margin potential. The Sales manager can also influence the development of new products and services to create products that maximize sales potential.
Review month end billable lists for all Edmonton sales and ensure all jobs are updated and accurate by the Sales Team.
Review & approve sales team commissions monthly. Evaluate compensation packages to ensure the right behaviors are being rewarded
Provide leadership for employee relations through effective communication, coaching, training and development.
Conducts one-on-one reviews with all Sales team and sales support team to understand training and development needs and to provide insight for the improvement of activity and performance.
Handle escalated customer concerns & disputes for all Edmonton customers when required.
Monitor departmental performance against goals to ensure that progress is being made, and that corrective action is taken if necessary to uphold exceptional customer experience levels.
Responsible for holding appropriate staff levels accountable to meet requirements of their departments.
Responsible for recruitment, hiring, terminations and performance management.
Manage the morale in the Sales department by setting and demonstrating a strong business ethic for dealing with employees, suppliers and customers.
Build team cohesion with the Sales & Operations team through team building events.
Enhance and develop policies, procedures and service systems to meet the goals of the department.
Analyze and report on the Sales & Operations team monthly and annual key performance indicators and industry trends.
Develop and implement strategies around improving the financial performance of the department.
Measure and monitor key customer service areas including call handling, repair turnaround time, first time completions, work order aging, days to first visit, and customer satisfaction.
Ensure efficient operations and customer service.
Requirements
Skills Required - Technical
Knowledge and experience with MS Office (Excel, Word)
A clear and solid understanding of personnel policies, practices, and procedures and other operational issues faced by the organization.
Able to identify key issues; creatively and strategically overcome internal challenges or obstacles
Skills Required - Non-Technical
Leadership ability with a strong focus on operations and business processes.
Able to communicate both verbally and in writing.
Well-developed problem-solving skills to effectively resolve customer issues.
High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
High level of integrity, confidentially, and accountability.
Sound analytical thinking, planning, prioritization, and execution skills.
A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution, and people management skills.
Education and Experience Required
High School diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.
Post-Secondary degree in Business, Marketing or a related field.
4+ years' of Sales experience in the Building industry.
8 or more years' previous management experience with proven leadership abilities.
