Editorial Production Specialist

The Editorial Production Specialist position reports directly to the Manager, Creative Studio. The incumbent coordinates editorial processes and timelines for print, digital and promotional materials and assists in maintaining the editorial standards for Sheridan Marketing & Communications publications, digital assets, promotional materials and the College website. In some instances, the incumbent receives direct project requests from the Director of Marketing and Brand Strategy.

What You\'ll be Doing

  • Coordinating editorial revisions, processes and timelines for the Sheridan Marketing & Communications publications, website and integrated campaigns across all media and ensures that editorial project objectives and deadlines are met.
  • Planning and scheduling editorial production of digital assets, promotional materials and web content.
  • Liaising and managing deadlines and project schedules with Creative Studio team members, internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure compatibility of production priorities and to resolve production or scheduling conflicts.
  • Collaborating with other Creative Studio, Digital Marketing and Communication team members and internal stakeholders in the production of print, web and digital materials.
  • Ensuring content accuracy of all Marketing & Communications publications and websites throughout production and assists in maintaining Marketing & Communications standards.
  • Writing and editing copy to ensure content (style, grammar, length) follows established corporate standards, according to best practices and audience preferences and meets publication, promotional and Marketing & Communications objectives.
  • Verifying and documenting the work of the Creative Studio to ensure corrections.
  • Providing guidance and information on best practices with regards to editorial industry standards to colleagues and internal stakeholders.
  • Ensuring the accuracy and effectiveness of editorial content during the implementation of creative concepts and strategies.
  • Approving editorial accuracy of final art and production proofs before printed projects are published, website content is pushed to the live site and digital assets are launched in market.
  • Advising clients to provide draft content in appropriate electronic format and providing clients with ongoing editorial assistance from draft to final stages.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will also meet the following qualifications:
  • 4-year diploma/degree in English, Marketing, publishing, organizational communications or related field of study.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in copy writing for marketing (short-form content), editing and editorial production (Equivalency will be considered)
