Job Title: EDI Administrator, Intermediate



Job Summary



The Intermediate EDI Administrator position's main responsibility is to manage, maintain and monitor the organization's EDI systems and processes for the seamless exchange of data with trading partners. This involves providing support for electronic data interchange (EDI) database analysis, design, and operations. Additional responsibilities include providing product installation, configuration, training, and systems maintenance to update records, specifications, and operating procedures of partner systems. Additionally, this involves monitoring transactions, troubleshooting and resolving errors and coordinating with involved parties, internal and external, as applicable.


Responsibility



Provide first-tier support for all EDI-related applications. Perform EDI administration, such as trading partner setups. Plan, design, development, and deployment of new maps and trading partner relationships. Maintain EDI account transaction activities, work orders with EDI Provider(s). Onboard new trading partners. Obtain Approvals from facilities for mapping and other related costs; prepare Requisitions for Purchase Order (PO) and Payment process on behalf of the facilities, for MBI (Miscellaneous Billing Instructions) and cost allocation purposes. Maintain and ensures updated (OpenText) Team Book Tracker for 3-way match of Work Order, PO and Invoice cross-referencing Monitor transactions and data transmissions, troubleshoot and resolve EDI issues / integration errors, corroborate and collaborate with all parties concerned. Promptly disseminate communications to all facilities across Linamar utilizing EDI for any internal regularly scheduled maintenance activities as well as those scheduled by the EDI Service Provider (OpenText, etc.), ensuring the use of alternative means such as the third-party ASN. Perform functional testing and sanity checks in support for global systems maintenance activities (Patching, Disaster Recovery, etc.) Monitor BizLink Application for any incoming and outgoing files transmitted through EDI; coordinate with Skyjack any stuck files or failed transmissions for their resolution and/or further processing. Liaise with and between facilities, customers, and/or suppliers and software and service vendors as needed to provide an additional level of support to the users, and for managing modifications to the applications. Develop and execute project plans throughout the Linamar facilities for EDI to meet customer standards. Communicate between facilities and EDI Provider(s) any additional business requirements, as well prompt update of any connection issues and/or resolutions. Coordinate and perform in-depth integration testing to achieve customer certification. Create and maintain effective documentation system. Provide orientation and training to end-users for all pertinent systems, including Checklists and Questionnaire for obtaining relevant information required for Customer and Supplier EDI Setups. Update documentation, implement system upgrades for new EDI Guidelines, if any, and make adjustments where necessary. Compliance to company policies and procedures and control mechanisms in place. Work with various Teams to develop, coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for system modification or improvement where applicable (e.g. IFS Cloud Implementation). Review and evaluate the effectiveness and efficiency of existing systems and strategize improvement on further leveraging these systems.

Academic/Educational Requirements



University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science, Materials Management, Business Administration, Information Sciences, or related discipline.

Required Skills/Experience



Minimum three years actual EDI hands-on work experience. Knowledge in Seeburger and Inovis EDI software; ANX and ECQ systems; Loftware, XML, Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle 10g. Sound working knowledge of EDI standards (EDIFACT, X12, VDA), XML, Json, programming tools and languages, such as JavaScript or C# in Visual Studio and hardware, protocols, and standards, including TCP, IP. Experience with Network and PC operating systems; current network hardware, protocols, and standards, including TCP, IP. Automotive and / or Manufacturing EDI experience is preferred. Working knowledge of ERP System particularly Industrial and Financial Systems (IFS), IFS Cloud, etc. Good knowledge of databases. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Able to communicate on a technical and non-technical level depending on the audience. Work as member of team and coordinate efforts with programmers, other administrators and developers to develop, test and implement database system components. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Thorough, diligent and resourceful. Excellent problem-solving skills (critical thinking and analysis), and ability to troubleshoot in a fast paced and demanding environment. Flexible and adaptable; proactive and positive disposition.
