THE ROLE:
We're expanding our Strategy & Business Performance team and have an opportunity for an Economic Planning Analyst, located in Calgary, AB. Reporting to the Manager, Strategy & Business Excellence, you will be responsible for coordinating the company's forecasting and modeling tools and activities, conducting economic evaluations, cash flow analyses and forecasts for long term projects and initiatives.

HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE:

  • Provide long term corporate financial forecasting: support master development plan activities, consolidate and verify information and data, provide modeling and economic analyses to support corporate business planning activities and inform strategic decisions made
  • Evaluate single well economics, area activities and priorities
  • Interpret economic forecast and models, evaluate project financial viability, review variances and sensitivities
  • Provide interactive reporting using integrated data analytics tools
  • Complete assigned economic analysis related projects and prepare and present results
  • Prepare presentations, compiling pertinent data and materials, ensuring information is complete, appropriately formatted and submitted in a timely manner
  • Provide support in the development and maintenance of corporate economic models and long/short term planning tools; monitor consistency of application /practices / methodologies employed, research and evaluate applicability of best practices, recommend adoption of new tools and techniques and provide user training as needed.
WHAT YOU BRING:
  • Bachelor of Commerce or Engineering degree
  • 5+ years' oil and gas industry experience performing economic analyses and development planning activities
  • Excellent analytical skills with demonstrated ability to analyze large volumes of raw data, draw conclusions, and develop actionable recommendations
  • Experience with Enersight, ValNav, or similar planning tools is required
  • Power BI experience creating complex reporting
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with proven ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationships
