Reporting to the Manager, Economic Development & BRC, the Economic Development Officer will be responsible for supporting the Senior Economic Development Officer with the development and implementation of economic growth/development strategies and projects to support key economic development priorities and initiatives. The Economic Development Officer will provide assistance and support to the Economic Development team in all aspects of economic development activities including administrative duties, data management, engagement of industry-related stakeholders and community groups on various initiatives, learning opportunities and partnerships.

QUALIFICATIONS



Post secondary education diploma or post-secondary degree (preferred) in Economic Development, Marketing, Business, Project Management, or related discipline. Three (3) years related experience in economic development, customer relationship management, account management and/or sales is essential. Certificate in Economic Development is an asset. Strong understanding of municipal policies, programs, and processes, in addition to knowledge of the municipal decision-making process. Excellent problem solving skills with fluency in data analysis. Ability to assemble and present information in a professional manner. Ability to exercise independent initiative and establish priorities for own workload. Collaborate and participate effectively within a team environment. Excellent customer services skills and professional demeanor are essential. Exercise sound judgement, discretion, and a high degree of confidentiality. Computer expertise in Microsoft Office and department specific software for data search and entry, and for creating and modifying documents. Valid Driver s License (class G) and access to a vehicle required

WAGE/SALARY RANGE:

$37.62 to $47.03 per hour (based on a 35-hour work week) plus benefits
