Job Description

Reporting to the Town Manager/Clerk, the Economic Development Intern is responsible for the successful development and delivery of a variety of multidisciplinary research and community projects designed to help support learning opportunities, priorities, objectives, and dialogue for the Pickle Lake Community and Area. This position is responsible for facilitating economic development initiatives by identifying and promoting opportunities for relevant programming, community activities/projects, business development, and recreation/tourism. Collaborating with local organizations, businesses and individuals, the incumbent works at both a strategic and hands-on level to ensure optimal economic development within the Township. The EDO will provide strategic oversight and administrative leadership through a broad and diverse range of responsibilities and assignments.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS:



A University Degree or College Diploma (or equivalent experience) in Public Administration, Economic Development, Business Management, Planning, and/or Community Development with specific knowledge in development, research methods/design, business analysis, project evaluation, and public affairs research. Some experience within various research, community development, project management, and program evaluation. Some experience with managing research and community projects Relevant knowledge of social/health/environmental research ability to remain current with new developments and findings within the research community Superior interpersonal and communication (oral and written) skills with the ability to work independently as well as part of team Ability to absorb high volume of information from a variety of sources High energy and a passionate commitment to the goals of the Township and the ability/willingness to adapt as those goals as needs evolve. Processing superb judgement, impeccable integrity, and the maturity to handle sensitive information with care and confidentiality. High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) Demonstrated ability to be a team player who can establish effective working relationships with Leadership Team, Council, other employees, and the public.
Candidates should have access to reliable transportation and maintain a valid Class "G" Driver's License.

SALARY RANGE:

Commensurate with experience
