Based out of one of our office locations or out of your home office in Alberta or British Columbia, youll have the opportunity to work as part of multi-disciplinary project teams associated with our Western Canada Offices to contribute to the environmental planning and permitting efforts of government and privately-owned infrastructure projects. This is a contract position which is a mix of field and office work. Bring your enthusiasm for learning and desire to conserve our natural resources, and well help you grow!

By joining, Jacobs, youll commit to supporting and engaging with these teams, as we work to build a company like no other. Heres What Youll Need:

  • Degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Geography, Biology/Ecology or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in environmental consulting in Western Canada, particularly oil and gas, mining, energy, or renewables.
  • Familiarity with provincial and federal environmental legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Understanding of managing budgets and schedules.
  • Demonstrated technical writing skills.
  • Time management skills, with the ability to simultaneously work on multiple tasks and projects and meet project deadlines.
  • Great communication skills both written and verbal and willingness to be client facing to grow our planning and permitting services.
  • A drivers license and ability to provide a clean, 3 year driving abstract.
Ideally, Youll Also Have:
  • Experience or knowledge of Indigenous cultural values
  • Knowledge of municipal permitting requirements in BC
  • Experience providing regulatory advice to clients and internal teams during all stages of the project life cycle
  • Hold or can obtain a Professional Designation
  • Strong consideration for safety
  • Positive attitude and self-motivated, with excellent interpersonal skills suited to working with a variety of different teams.
  • High attention to detail and strong desire to provide high quality deliverables.
  • Interest in inspiring and supporting the development of others through high quality delivery for our clients.
